3 Words

The assignment from my son, Taggart's, 6th grade English teacher:

What are your three words?
In a video clip or live presentation, choose a three word message to display to the class.
Your three words can be about anything you want to say.
Be silly or serious.
Be fun or inspiring.

Your three words express something about you right now.

Go for it!

This is the video that Taggart Eymer and his friend, Robert Raymond produced.

A new way to print the old way.

I am hoping that the folks at LetterMPress can develop an application that replicates the mimeograph of the 1960s and 1970s. Oh, and it has to have that distinct smell–that could make you kind of woozy!

Thanks David for the heads-up!– Doug.

Virtual Letterpress for the iPad

The LetterMpress project is extremely interesting in so many ways. It is a bleeding edge application that allows you to replicate a 'hands on technique'. Can someone please develop an application that simulates a mimeograph from the '60s. Oh, and don't forget that great mimieograph smell! Thanks David Ekizian for the 'heads up' on this one.

My thoughts for a penny.

Have you seen the “tails” side of the Lincoln penny? I pulled a shiny one out of my pocket earlier today and was shocked at the new design. What is going on at the US mint?

We now have these incredible design and manufacturing tools and the best design that we can come up with looks like it may have first been designed in PowerPoint using cheesy clip art.

Who’s to blame? As with all design projects, you have to look at both sides of the conference room table.

• The bad designer with the squeamish client?
• The frustrated client with the uninspired designer?
• The wonderful designer with an uneducated client?
• The frustrated designer, unhappy client, and the conservative die-maker?

There possibilities are endless.

Perhaps, it was the same team that messed up Paul Rand’s classic UPS logo. After all, they do look quite similar! –Doug.

Eymer Design Store: back online.

EymerWare, EymerDrive, WebBot posters, circa 2000After a 10 year hiatus, the EYMER DESIGN STORE is back online.

As you may or may not remember, during the mid to late 1990s, the EYMER WARE store was an extremely popular destination on the INTERNET SUPERHIGHWAY. Shoppers were able to load up on Eymer T-shirts, posters, Secret Agent pens and custom-made, EYMER Zippo® lighters–without leaving their comfortable desk chairs.

A rumors still circulates, involving Internet inventor, Al Gore, virtually wandering the aisles in search of a customized EYMER vacuum bottle, analog desk calendar (in “Space Age” plastic), or “Human Billboard” sweatshirt.

Currently, the product line consists of a series of posters created by EYMER DESIGN in 1999-2000, with retro-funk illustrations by Mark S. Fisher.

Our supplies are limited, so if you are interested–you will need to act fast.

From a historical perspective, if you would like to view a complete collection of EYMER PROPAGANDA, just click here. – Doug.
