Eymer Design, Wolf Greenfield and the “Snow Catalog”

front coverinterior (left side)interior (right side)back coverYesterday, the chain of events went as follows: the milkman delivered the first eggnog of the season to EYMER DESIGN + Think Tank. This made me think of the “PowerNog” add that I posted yesterday.

As I was going through our portfolio archives, I found the holiday card that we designed for intellectual property law firm, Wolf Greenfield in 2005.

The finished product was a printed 8” x 10”, four page card, mailed in an oversized envelope.

The holiday theme for this particular piece involved the concept of “snow” as well as “snow-related merchandise”. As with all Wolf Greenfield holiday cards, there were many fun and fruitful hours throwing ideas back and forth between our two companies.

My favorite? I like the “Snowmobile Mobile” on the back cover.

Above, is the final card for your online viewing pleasure.

Happy holidays. Doug.

PowerNog. (one from the Eymer Design archives)

PowerNog Ad, Wolf, Greenfield & Sacks, P.C., 2004EYMER DESIGN Laboratories + Think Tank headquarters, receives our weekly milk water the old-fashioned way. A Hornstra Farms milk truck (with a large cow head on the side), pulls up and Dave our milkman opens our milk box, reads our weekly order and returns to his truck. He soon reappears with a metal rack loaded with the (mostly) glass bottles of our preferred products.

Just like old times. Ah, the quaint New England suburbs!

I am extremely proud to announce that this week’s order contains the year’s first quart of holiday eggnog. Yes, Dave has delivered the first eggnog of the 2010-2011 Eggnog Season!

Following a frosty mugful, my nutmeg-enhanced mind drifted back a few years, and remembered a holiday card that we designed for the intellectual property law firm of Wolf Greenfield, in 2004. I had the privilege of working with the (chronically zany) marketing group led by the hysterical Audra Callanan. For the firm’s 2004 holiday card, we (as a group) developed SMARTS ILLUSTRATED, a parody of the sports publication with a similar name.

I have included a link (right here) that will allow you to download the finished version of the PDF.

The actual piece was printed, placed in an envelope and mailed the old-fashioned way. (Truck with eagle head pulls up, mail delivery person pops out… you know the story.)

What made me think about this project was the back cover which featured a fabricated product that branded, Power Nog (pictured above).

In addition to Audra’s usual jokes about holiday fruitcake–eggnog became a predominant punchline as we worked through the following year’s card, a mail-order catalog for snow and snow products.

Perhaps if you are interested I will post that one later this week.
Thanks for reading. I will chat with you soon. Doug.

When there's no time to ship it…

The EYMER DESIGN Laboratories + Think Tank has been extremely busy over the past few weeks, helping Portland Maine based, CashStar, in the development of "Click It To Gift It Day.” The new holiday will take place on December 23, with the goal of encouraging consumers to buy personalized eGift Cards as holiday presents.

Because the entire transaction is conducted online and the eGift Cards are sent directly to a recipient’s e-mail address, gift-givers have until two days before Christmas to make their eGift Card purchases from a wide selection of national retailers–including, Home Depot, The Container Store, Dell, Staples, Travelocity, and The Children’s Place.

Please visit the official website at www.clickittogiftit.com. For Facebook users, there is an ongoing CITGI Holiday Promotion with valuable prizes distributed on a daily basis.

EYMER DESIGN’s work, includes the design of the program’s visual identity, retail sales kit, website, and assorted social media materials.

Please keep in mind, that during this holiday season, “When there’s no time to ship it, Click It To Gift It!”

International Intern of Mystery

In 2000, prior to our hostile takeover by PARTNERS+simons (just kidding Tom), the company posed for a group photo. In the front row, there was a highly gifted and extremely important member of the team who was serving as a college intern. Unfortunately, we cannot remember his name. We think that his first name was Matt, and that he was attenting the Worcester Polytechnic Institute at the time.

If you recognize him and know of his whereabouts, please let us know!

Office Manager, Model & Mascot

Olivetti in 'faux stole' layered over natural fur.

At least several times a week, we are asked to show 'behind the scenes' shots of EYMER DESIGN Laboratories + Think Tank. Since the majority of work is held under the strictest of security measures and well-guarded client confidentiality agreements, this is nearly impossible to do.

Occasionally, we are able to receive clearance for non-client specific photographs. The photograph above is an example of one of these images. Olivetti is the second German Shorthaired Pointer (dog) to hold an executive position at our company.
